We have been in the land of milk and honey for just shy of 2 weeks now, and we are just now sitting down to blog.
Why the delay?
Because:
a) we're technological idiots &
b) much of this experience has been such a whirlwind, we didn't quite know where to start.
Unfortunately, that means we've already missed many hilarious moments we could have shared.
like...
1. our children pointing at the plethera of street smokers and loudly talking about how bad it is for your health.
2. the dog in our apartment building that is just put on the elevator and sent to the lobby in hopes that some kind soul will let him out and eventually put him back on the elevator and send him back to the 4th floor.
3. Ikea is NOT open on Shabbat, nor is it near anything (found that out the hard way).
4. Our children fighting over who gets the bomb shelter for their bedroom.
5. Jelly fish the size of small umbrellas and shaped like flying saucers.
We may revert and give you the full scoop on these things later, but for now just know that we are making our best effort to settle into this new strange place, figure out how to use the foreign appliances, find our way to the grocery store or market, read labels and instructions in Hebrew, sit through endless welcome to Israel seminars, and apply for the bizillion passes and id's necessary to make this whole thing legit.
